Abstract:Wave-equation traveltime inversion (WTI) can be used to automatically obtain a background near-surface velocity model (NSM), which overcomes the high-frequency approximation in ray theory. It is generally implemented in the time domain. However, the commonly used gradient-based optimisation methods (such as the steepestdescent method) in WTI have a low convergence rate and may yield less accurate results within limited iterations in geologically complex regions. To increase the convergence rate and improve the… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
