Abstract:Due to the important role of the meniscus concerning the integrity of the knee joint, meniscus tissue preserving techniques for the therapy of meniscal injuries seem to be reasonable. Due to a diminished self-healing capacity of meniscus particularly in the avascular zone, meniscus restoration is not always possible.
