Abstract: Turbulence, a key driver of wind turbine loads, is central in the assessment of turbine suitability and performance, and consequently impacts the expected energy production of a wind farm. Conventional flow modeling methods for wind resource assessment (WRA) typically lack the ability to resolve turbulence due to key simplifications in their formulation.
