Abstract-The paper deals with the issue of modeling the structure of lexical meaning from the perspective of modern semantics. The analysis of the existing theories is carried out in order to stress the importance of using this method. The correlation of language units with the reality which is fixed in their lexical meaning is described. Modeling is the method that helps us explain that correlation and describe components of lexical meaning in detail. Characteristic features of linguistic models are shown, and on this basis their classification is presented. The main principle of the classification is the opposition of models due to different aspects. The specific of the term 'modeling' is cleared up, and concepts of an object level and a meta-level are differentiated. The difference between 'a language model' and 'a linguistic model' is explained. As a result, an example of modeling the lexical meaning of a word is given in order to emphasize the practical application of the modeling method.

Abstract-This paper searches for the points of contact between cognitive linguistics and information technology (IT) by drawing parallels between key concepts of cognitive linguistics and mathematical logics. Within this research, the notions of the metalanguage, the object language and the graph are considered not only as strictly logical concepts but as a tool that can be used to solve a range of interdisciplinary problems such as modeling the knowledge structure of a certain subject field (by developing principles that can be applied to every subject field). Since every natural language is both an object and a subject of cognition, such type of research seems to be essential in terms of the modern level of computer technology and artificial intelligence (AI). The paper also substantiates the reason to create interdisciplinary teams of software developers because such kind of intercommunication and cooperation between different areas of study seems to be vital to deal with the problems of modern educational and testing issues.

Modeling of Semantic Structure of Similative Phraseological Units

The problem of modeling of semantic structure of similative phraseological units is described. With the use of formal meta language SESAME invented for the purposes of the conducted semantic analyses (a meaningful acronym of Standard Events and Situations Artificial Meta-language) on the basis of frame-scenario models, the authors made an attempt to analyze the transferred meaning and in particular the degree of modeling potential, the degree of explicitness / implicitness, the degree of semantic dividedness / integrity and the scale of the denotative area of English similative phraseological units. Similative phraseological units under consideration can be comparative, metaphoric or allegoric.
