Structure D 2000Metallic Re-Re Bond Formation in Different MRe2O6 (M: Fe, Co, Ni) Rutile--Like Polymorphs: The Role of Temperature in High-Pressure Synthesis. -The title compounds are prepared by a high-pressure high-temperature synthesis from mixtures of MO (M: Fe, Co, Ni), ReO3, and Re (Girdle-Belt apparatus, platinum capsule, 5 GPa, 1473 or 1573 K, 120 min) and their crystal structure is determined by single crystal XRD. For synthesis temperatures higher than 1573 K tetragonal rutile-type structures (space group P4 2 /mmm, Z = 2) exist for all three compounds. Rutile-like structures with partially ordered M and Re ions on different sites and metallic Re-Re bonds within Re2O10 pairs exist for CoRe2O6 (orthorhombic space group F222, Z = 32) and NiRe2O6 (monoclinic space group C2/m, Z = 8) at a synthesis temperature of 1473 K. Magnetic properties of the various modifications of the title compounds are discussed. -(MIKHAILOVA*, D.; EHRENBERG, H.; OSWALD, S.; TROTS, D.; BREY, G.; FUESS, H.; J.
