Metatriangulation: Building Theory from Multiple Paradigms

Abstract

As abordagens multiparadigmáticas auxiliam a exploração de fenômenos particularmente complexos e paradoxais ao ajudarem os teóricos a utilizar perspectivas teóricas distintas. Neste artigo desenvolvemos um extenso guia de modelos multiparadigmáticos e depois relacionamos suas diferentes abordagens em uma estratégia de metatriangulação na construção de teorias. Nosso processo se volta aos desafios que os teóricos enfrentam ao selecionarem temas de pesquisa, ao coletarem e analisarem os dados, e ao criarem e avaliarem as teorias resultantes utilizando múltiplos paradigmas. Uma discussão final sobre as vantagens, limitações e aplicações potenciais da metatriangulação a posiciona no campo da teoria organizacional.
