“…There were more transmission line infrastructure projects for Shandong power grid in recent years, but along with the abnormal rise in temperature of global climate, as well as China's extreme weather were processing more frequent, the power grid suffered from extreme heavy rain, snow, ice, wind, and other severe weather more and more frequently [1,2]. According to the galloping distribution map of Shandong power grid [3,4] released by the State Grid Corporation in recent years in 2021, there is a higher risk of line infrastructure projects in Shandong being affected by galloping faults.…”

“…In 2018, galloping accidents occurred on a total of 77 high-voltage transmission lines of the Hubei power grid, resulting in tripping of 19 transmission lines, and over eight towers, nine wires and five interphase spacers were damaged. The phenomenon of transmission line galloping poses a great threat to the normal and safe operation of power grid systems and even causes great economic losses and has serious social influence [4]. Therefore, it is of very important practical application value to simulate the occurrence of actual line galloping; explore the influence of galloping on conductors, towers, fittings and components; and enrich the understanding of transmission line galloping.…”

“…Transmission line galloping is a self-excited vibration with long time and large-scale vibration, thus causing damage to transmission towers, insulator strings, connecting fittings, etc. (Lu et al , 2019; Yang et al , 2021). However, there is still a lack of experimental research on galloping damage and anti-galloping technology.…”
