Methodology for assessing the environmental characteristics of various methods of generating electricity

Abstract: The article considers the energy efficiency of energy production from various types of fuel. The analysis of the negative impact of the use of various types of fuel on the environment. The most significant indicators for assessing the environmental efficiency of the use of fuel for electricity production are established. A comparison is made with the performance indicators that are currently used. The advantages and disadvantages are established. The necessity of developing a more effective methodology for ass… Show more

“…This would ensure optimal financing of heat supply. [8][9][10] When mini-TPPs are launched, the undersupply of electricity to consumers will decrease by 15.34 million kW•h/ year or 12% due to increased reliability of the power supply. According to the methodological recommendations for the design of the development of power systems, developed by JSC "Institute" Energosetproekt ", the specific damage will be 50-150 r/ kW•h.…”

“…Because of the need to increase mining for industrial needs, one of the factors of this impact is the excavation of rocks from quarries and the storage of them and waste in dumps. Open mining of raw materials leads to the formation of dumps of overburden (waste) rocks, covering the minerals [33]. Without properly organized reclamation, such dumps are almost never overgrown with vegetation and are a source of environmental pollution.…”

Negative processes affect various components of the environment (air, water, green spaces and soils) [2,3,6,[8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15]. The sharp reduction of forests and green areas has led to a decrease in the ability to process emissions of carbon dioxide and other harmful substances [1,3,8,9,[16][17][18][19].…”
