Anaerobic digestion (AD) is a biological treatment susceptible to temperature variations. The Arrhenius model and the Van´t Hoff-Arrhenius relationship analyze the temperature effect in AD first-order kinetic constant (k). Kinetic data is relevant for estimating the hydraulic retention time (HRT) in continuous reactors. This research aimed to evaluate the behavior of kinetic constants concerning temperature using the Arrhenius model and Van´t Hoff-Arrhenius relationship and analyze the influence of kinetic constants as estimators of the HRT. The evaluation of the temperature effect in AD analyzed k fit to the Arrhenius model and Van’t Hoff-Arrhenius relationship. The research used data of AD methane yield (B0) kinetics from the literature, corresponding to macroalgae (MA) (25, 35, 45oC), swine manure (SM) (25, 30, 35oC), and co-digestion of chicken manure with sawdust and miscanthus (CM) (35, 40, 42oC). The Arrhenius model and Van´t Hoff-Arrhenius relationship fitted the data with reduced temperature intervals (∆T = 5°C). The HRT analysis used a mass balance model considering 80% of the maximum B0 compared with the technical digestion time at 80 (T80) and 90% (T90) of the maximum B0. The results indicate that the HRT calculation is sensitive for k below 0.13 d-1.

The global increase of the population has generated more and more requirement of the animal-based food. In order to provide this requirement, it was necessary to increase considerably the actual numbers of animals. This has led to both numerous positive and negative effects brought both to people and animals. Creating agro-touristic farms, ensuring fresh food, creating workplaces are just a part of the factors which have beneficial effects on the human beings. Yet, a major problem, which should not be ignored and neglected, is represented by the wastes resulted from animal breeding. These superficially treated wastes can cause numerous negative effects on the whole ecosystem. The animal dejections, the water resulted from the meat processing, the animal corpses, and all represent biodegradable wastes, which might be used, by transforming their energy content into electrical and thermal energy. This can be possible, for example, by using these wastes as raw material for producing biogas. To prove their efficiency in producing the biogases there have been done thermal analysis. In this article are analysed, from a thermal point of view, 3 different samples. In the first part of the experiment were analysed the swine dejections, in the second part were analysed the poultry dejections, and the third experiment consisted in the analysis of the cow stable waste. The analysis of these samples was done with the help of the Netzsch 449 C Jupiter device. The results obtained from the analysis prove the fact that all the three raw materials can be used as raw materials in producing the biogas.

Os dejetos animais podem ser utilizados em biodigestores anaeróbicos com intuito de produzir biogás e biofertilizante. Entretanto, a identificação e o conhecimento do perfil de resistência a antimicrobianos da microbiota presente no composto se faz necessário. Microrganismos presentes nas amostras foram identificados genotipicamente pelo sequenciamento do rRNA 16S. O perfil de susceptibilidade a antimicrobianos foi determinado pelo método de disco-difusão. Os grupos microbianos encontrados foram os Bacilos Gram Negativos da família Enterobacteriaceae e cocos Gram positivos. Quanto a susceptibilidade aos antimicrobianos, para os isolados do gênero Staphylococcus a penicilina foi a droga que apresentou o maior índice de resistência (78,9%), seguida da oxacilina (57,9%), sendo a maioria dos isolados (94,7%) sensíveis à combinação de ampicilina-sulbactam e ao levofloxacino (78,9%). Para os isolados do gênero Enterococcus os maiores índices de resistência foram detectados para a rifamicina (48%) e eritromicina (32%), com elevada sensibilidade ao levofloxacino (88%) e à vancomicina (80%). As linhagens de Escherichia coli avaliadas apresentaram uma alta sensibilidade à amicacina (85,7%) e a maior resistência se deu para o antimicrobiano ampicilina (42,8%). A utilização do biofertilizante gerado deve ser criteriosa devido à persistência de espécies potencialmente patogênicas no efluente final, onde algumas das quais apresentam relevante resistência a antimicrobianos.
