Methods for the Synthesis of Polyethereketone

Abstract: The data on the methods for the preparation of polyetherketones by electrophilic and nucleophilic methods are considered and generalized. It is shown that polyetherketones by electrophilic substitution are carried out as homopolycondensation aromatic monocarboxylic acids and their halides and polycondensation of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons with aromatic dicarboxylic acids or their halides, and phosgene in organic solvents (1,2-dichloroethane, methylene chloride, nitrobenzene and etc.) in the presence of … Show more

“…As a matrix for the preparation of composites with fibrous fillers, polyphenylene sulfone (PPS) with a reduced viscosity of 0.4 dl/g based on 4,4′-dihydroxydiphenyl and 4,4′-dichlorodiphenylsulphone synthesized in the Progressive Polymers Laboratory of H.M. Berbekov Kabardino-Balkarian State University was used [3,4]. Carbon fibers with a particle length of 0.2 and 3 mm produced by R & G (Germany) were used as fillers.…”

“…To identify the most effective type of filler, the composite materials based on polyethersulfone were obtained and investigated. As a polymer matrix, synthesized polyphenylene sulfone (PPSU) based on 4,4′-dihydroxydiphenyl and 4,4′-dichlorodiphenylsulfone with an intrinsic viscosity of 0.5 dl/g [3,4] was used. As fillers used: finely divided chalk produced by LLC "Industrial Fillers" brand M-1 (Russia), with an average particle size of 0.8 μm; talc of Imerys, brand Luzenac A7C (France), with an average particle size of 2 μm; silver graphite grade GL-1 with an average particle size of 20 μm and cryptocrystalline graphite grade GLS-3, with an average particle size of 10 μm (GOST 5279-74); ground carbon fiber from Graphite PRO (Russia), with an average fiber length of 0.25-0.35 mm was used.…”

“…As the polymer matrix, PPSU based on 4,4′-dihydroxy-diphenyl and 4,4′dichlorodiphenylsulfone with an intrinsic viscosity of 0.45-0.50 dl/ g, synthesized at the Laboratory of Progressive Polymers of KBSU according to the previously described procedure was used [10,11]. As a filler talc of the company "Imerys", brand Luzenac A7C (France), with an average particle size of 2 microns was used.…”
