Abstract: Methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) (4‐methyl‐2‐pentanone) is an industrially important solvent and chemical intermediate. The properties, manufacturing technologies, uses, and health, safety, and environmental aspects of MIBK are discussed in this article.
