The Service Computing Framework with Scrum (SCFS) is a framework that combines Services Computing Systems Engineering (SCSE) with the Scrum Framework. This framework was created to produce a system with a good service concept by following the SCSE workflow in an agile manner through the application of Scrum principles. This paper will provide an overview of how to evaluate the SCFS framework using SOA and Agile principles through a case study. The research methodology used in this paper is a Design Science Research Methodology (DSRM). This research results in project evaluations using SCFS with good Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) parameter results. The SCFS framework can also be used in Agile development environments with fairly good parameters of velocity, story points, sprint burn down, release burn up, value delivered, and job satisfaction. In case studies conducted, this framework can help accelerate the release of service systems. The first release on the test only took 34 working days, 18 working days to get the second release, and 21 working days to get the third release. If done as a whole in one cycle, the service system will take approximately 73 working days to be used.

The migration of monolithic applications to the cloud is a popular trend, with microservice architecture being a commonly targeted architectural pattern. The motivation behind this migration is often rooted in the challenges associated with maintaining legacy applications and the need to adapt to rapidly changing business requirements. To ensure that the migration to microservices is a sound decision for enhancing maintainability, designers must carefully consider the underlying factors driving this software architecture migration. This study proposes a set of software architecture metrics for evaluating the maintainability of microservice architectural designs for monolith to microservice architecture migration. These metrics consider various factors, such as coupling, complexity, cohesion, and size, which are crucial for ensuring that the software architecture remains maintainable in the long term. Drawing upon previous product quality models that share similar design properties with microservice, we have derived maintainability metrics that can help measure the quality of microservice architecture. In this work, we introduced our first version of structural metrics for measuring the maintainability quality of microservice architecture concerning its cloud-native characteristics. This work allows us to get early feedback on proposed metrics before a detailed evaluation. With these metrics, designers can measure their microservice architecture quality to fully leverage the benefits of the cloud environment, thus ensuring that the migration to microservice is a beneficial decision for enhancing the maintainability of their software architecture applications.

Context: Coupling relations reflect the dependencies between software entities and can be used to assess the quality of a program. For this reason, a vast amount of them has been developed, together with tools to compute their related metrics. However, this makes the coupling measures suitable for a given application challenging to find. Goals: The first objective of this work is to provide a classification of the different kinds of coupling relations, together with the metrics to measure them. The second consists in presenting an overview of the tools proposed until now by the software engineering academic community to extract these metrics. Method: This work constitutes a systematic literature review in software engineering. To retrieve the referenced publications, publicly available scientific research databases were used. These sources were queried using keywords inherent to software coupling. We included publications from the period 2002 to 2017 and highly cited earlier publications.
