Structure D 2000Mg2Ru2Cl10O·16H2O. -Single crystals of the title compound are grown by slow evaporation of a supersaturated 50% aq. HCl solution of RuCl 3 ·3H 2 O and MgCl 2 (1:1). Mg2Ru2Cl10O·16H2O crystallizes in monoclinic space group P21/c with Z = 2. The structure consists of layers of O-corner-shared [Ru2Cl10O] 4double-octahedra, [Mg(H2O)6] 2+ cations, and water molecules stacked along the a axis. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H···O and O-H···Cl interactions. -(BOUFAS*, S.; MERAZIG, H.; BENDJEDDOU, L.; DENES, G.; BEGHIDJA, A.; MOLITERNI, A.
