Microbiota and cognitive impairment: Current challenges and future perspectives

Abstract: Recent studies indicate that gut microbiota may play a crucial role in cognitive function. Individuals with cognitive impairment tend to have fewer beneficial gut bacteria and lower microbial diversity. Therefore, gut microbiota could be a potential biomarker for cognitive vulnerability.
