“…We measured the basal N 2 O production rate in the estuarine sediment (3.31 ± 0.28 nmol N 2 O g −1 h −1 ), which is higher than those in the sediments of Yangtze Estuary (0.04−0.12), 54 highlighting the spatial heterogeneity in N 2 O production in estuarine ecosystems. The dynamics of sedimentary N 2 O are generally determined by a comprehensive network with various contributions from biological (i.e., bacterial and fungal sources) and abiotic (chemo-denitrification) processes.…”

“…Although the effluent quality of the PN reactor with low-dose PVC-MP exposure (i.e., 0.5 mg/L) remained relatively stable as that of the no-MP control, significant impacts on AORs, N 2 O contributing pathways, and sludge physicochemical properties were detected in this study (Figures –), not to mention the high-dose PVC-MP exposure. Inspired by pioneering research, ,, our work revealed that the three dominant N 2 O production pathways in the PN system were regulated differently by PVC-MP exposure, and ultimately, higher N 2 O emission was observed, which were experimentally determined by a series of cyclic and batch tests, as well as the applications of SP analysis and metabolic inhibitors. The attained results will fill in a knowledge gap relevant to environmental risk assessment of ubiquitous MPs by linking PVC-MP exposure to N 2 O production in the PN system.…”

“…Chen et al. profoundly analyzed the impacts of three representative MPs on sedimentary N 2 O production and quantitatively examined the regulated contributing pathways through dual-isotope labeling technique and molecular methods . Despite the important progress, knowledge of N 2 O emission from the PN system under MP stress is still limited.…”

“…The use of renewable and biodegradable materials like PLA in electrochemical sensors, combined with the advantageous properties of carbon nanobers, represents a promising area of research for the development of eco-friendly and sustainable sensing platforms. 28,29 Here, a PLA-based membrane doped with CNF has been developed that had a surface area of 3.02 m 2 g −1 , a pore size of 18.77 nm, and a pore volume of 0.0137 cm 3 g −1 . The membrane was further functionalized as a bio-based electrode (Fig.…”
