Microstrip patch antennas on uniaxial anisotropic substrates with several optical axis orientations

Abstract: The characteristics of microstrip patch antennas on uniaxial anisotropic substrates are presented. The analysis was developed in the Fourier domain, by using a combination of the Hertz vector potentials and Galerkin method, to determine the resonant fiequency and the Q factor. The radiation pattem is obtained by using the phase stationary condition. In the anisotropic material, the optical axis orientation is considered to be along the microstrip main axes.
