Microstructural and Optical Properties of Electrodeposited CdSnSe Thin Films

Abstract: The deposition potentials effects on the structural, morphological and optical properties of the CdSnSe films are studied. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns revealed a mixer of cubic and orthogonal phases for the grown CdSnSe thin films. The refractive index, extinction coefficient, dielectric constant and thereby the optical band gap of the films are calculated from transmittance spectral data recorded in the range 400-1200 nm by UV-Vis-NIR Spectrometer. The optical band gap energy of CdSnSe thin films is foun… Show more

“…DMS materials, specifically binary semiconductors doped with transition metals, have emerged as promising candidates for applications in spintronic devices and thin film solar cells [ 1 ]. With an intrinsic bandgap of 1.74 eV, CdSe serves as a crucial platform for exploring the effects of dopants on its structural and optoelectronic properties [ 2 ]. In the synthesis of Iron (Fe) doped CdSe, the incorporation of nano-crystalline grains assumes significance.…”
