“…In some metallic materials, transformations can lead to the formation of a structure with a lamellar morphology and a "special" orientation relationship of the phases. When such compounds as a-Fe-Fe,C [l], A1-CuAl, [2], Pb-Sn [3], and Cd-Sn [4] are subsequently subjected to prolonged annealing, the lamellar structure is gradually transformed into an equiaxial morphology while other compounds, such as A1-8' [5], (CI + P)-Ti [6], A1-Ag2A1 [7], and Zn-Sn [8] display no spheroidization; vice versa, the lamella shape coefficient can even increase.
