Abstract:Microvirgula curvata is a small Gram-negative, curved rod first isolated from hydrocarbon-contaminated soil in Kuwait (Subhash et al. Int J Syst Evol Microbiol 2016;66:5309–5313). We describe the first known case of human infection with M. curvata in a 65-year-old man with a ventriculoperitoneal shunt.
