Microwave Irradiation Assists the Synthesis of a Novel Series of bis-Arm s-Triazine Oxy-Schiff Base and Oxybenzylidene Barbiturate Derivatives

Abstract: A novel series of s-triazines incorporating 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde was prepared and fully characterized. The reaction was carried out via stepwise nucleophilic aromatic substitution of chlorine atoms in cyanuric chloride. The first chlorine was substituted by different amines (morpholine, piperidine, or diethylamine) to afford 2,4-dichloro-6-substituted-1,3,5-triazine. The second and third chlorines were substituted by benzaldehyde derivatives in the presence of Na2CO3 as a H… Show more

“…In particular implantation of MW assisted in heterogeneous catalytic approaches will find significant applications for the synthesis of heterocycles, particularly, in medicinal chemistry and drug development. That will be among the environmentally most problematic branches of the chemical enterprise; such green synthesis methods must become available [31–37] . At the present time several reviews have highlighted the latest developments in MW assistance methodology as well as green synthesis methods of heterocycles [38,39] .…”

“…This review aims to illustrate the ingenuity and imaginative breadth of the chemists in this direction by presenting a showcase of research of the past several years to bring to the fore the synthesis of TCT derivatives through the ecologically friendly processes using microwave irradiation and ultrasound to enable the reactions to take place in short reaction time either without solvent or with the minimum use of solvent. In this compilation, we have tried to demonstrate some representative examples of applying green approaches through microwave irradiation and reactions devised in solvent‐free conditions to the preparation of symmetrical triazines and their derivatives [17–20].…”

“…Melamine-based dendritic structures usually show external groups that can take part in bonding with hydrogen. Fréchet and coworker illustrated in an elegant example the self-assembly of greaterordered dendrimer structures by adding two complementary hydrogen-bonding moieties to the focal point of various dendrons [5,6].…”
