Abstract:We experimentally study microwave oscillations in a hybrid integrated circuit comprising a fieldeffect transistor and a log-periodic microstrip antenna on a dielectric substrate. The oscillations were observed both at the main resonance frequency of the antenna and at harmonics in a range of 6 to 40 GHz. The opportunities for oscillator design optimization were studied in application to the millimeter-wave range.
