Milling route for the synthesis of nano-aluminium hydroxide for the development of low-density polymer composites

Abstract: High loadings of coarse alumina trihydrate (ATH), commercially used in polymers as a fire-retardant filler, cause uneven dispersion and reduce workability and affect physicomechanical properties. Better tensile properties can be achieved by uniform dispersion of nanosize ATH in polymers while maintaining its flame-retardant properties.
