Mini boson stars in higher dimensions are radially unstable

Abstract

Boson stars are self-gravitating solutions made entirely of fundamental massive scalar fields. Here we investigate mini boson stars in D non-compact spacetime dimensions and we show that they are dynamically unstable for $$D>4$$ D > 4 .
