Minocycline Loaded Hybrid Composites Nanoparticles for Mesenchymal Stem Cells Differentiation into Osteogenesis

Abstract: Bone transplants are used to treat fractures and increase new tissue development in bone tissue engineering. Grafting of massive implantations showing slow curing rate and results in cell death for poor vascularization. The potentials of biocomposite scaffolds to mimic extracellular matrix (ECM) and including new biomaterials could produce a better substitute for new bone tissue formation. A purpose of this study is to analyze polycaprolactone/silk fibroin/hyaluronic acid/minocycline hydrochloride (PCL/SF/HA/M… Show more

“…The degradation of polyesters results from hydrolysis and diffusion of liquid molecules into the samples and causes degradation of the polymer chain over time. 38,39 The microscopic inspection of grafts after 15 days of incubation displayed the beginning of degradation by formation of very small holes on the surface (Figure 6a), which progressed to larger holes after 60 days of degradation (Figure 6b) At intervals of 15 days, the weights of dried specimens were recorded. Figure 6c shows the weight loss kinetics of the grafts incubated in PBS at 37°C (n = 6 for each specimen) over a 60 day period.…”

“…55 Taken this into account, minocycline has been added to the composition of distinct composite biomaterials, aiming an improved bone regeneration, through the enhanced commitment of precursor populations into the osteoblastic lineage and enhancement of osteogenic functionality. 56,57 MBC2.5 was further assayed in a proof-of-concept trial, following the tissue implantation and bacterial challenge with S. aureus, a common pathogenic agent of osteomyelitis. 9 MBC2.5 allowed for an effective reduction of the bacterial CFUs count, comparatively to control BC, supporting the adequacy of the release profile of minocycline for the management of local tissue infection.…”

“…El dentista debe estar familiarizado con las pruebas hematológicas (por ejemplo, biometría, coagulograma) que ayudan a identificar el estado de salud sistémico del paciente y el riesgo de someterse a un procedimiento dental invasivo. Igualmente, es muy importante recordar que la atención de este paciente se realiza dentro de un equipo multidisciplinario y, por lo tanto, es necesario mantener la comunicación con otros profesionales de la salud [13][14][15][16] .…”
