Mitigated Residual Phase and Performance Enhancement Using Improved Stokes Space Polarization Demultiplexing

Abstract: We investigate improved stokes-space polarization demultiplexing (SS-PDM) in coherent systems using Kalman-based CPR and show that the improved SS-PDM mitigates random phase jumps in conventional SS-PDM and thus improves the performance of the following CPR.
