Abstract: Mitochondria are semi-autonomous organelles in eukaryotic cells with their own genome. Plant mitogenomes differ from animal mitogenomes in size, structure, and repetitive DNA sequences. Despite larger sizes, plant mitogenomes do not have significantly more genes.
