“…Prior studies have demonstrated positive associations of parent religiosity on children's physical and mental outcomes. [16][17][18][19] They have also found that the effect of a parent's religiosity may vary by the sex of an offspring and that congruence in parent/offspring religiosity is also important. 20 Drawing on a sample of multiple generations of families at high and low risk for depression, our objective was 3-fold: (1) to attempt to replicate in this sample the association between the offspring's own religiosity and offspring's suicidal behavior, (2) to examine the association between parents' religiosity and offspring suicidal behavior, and (3) to examine the simultaneous association of parent and offspring religiosity on offspring's suicidal behavior.…”

“…Mosque, market and Hui community are interlinked and interdependent, which constitute three important links of Hui life: worship, commerce and residence [46]. In families with plenty of time and a strong religious atmosphere, most Muslim young people can enrich their understanding of the religion they believe through religious activities consciously guided or contacted by parents' words and deeds because religious parents are more likely to manifest their religious values and beliefs through their daily interactions with their children [47]. This culture subtly in uences Hui children through family and social education, making them no longer adhere to their own views in the face of con icts with others but unconsciously compromise.…”

“…According to (Bornstein et al, 2017), parents with great religiosity had both positive and negative correlations with children. Parent religiosity was associated with higher parental efficacy when their children were 9, and they help children to have better social competence.…”
