“…In contrast, HKUST-1 was able to achieve formaldehyde conversion, PA yield, and BYD yield of 97.5%, 47.5%, and 0.9%, respectively (entry 2). Compared to the Cu-based catalysts reported in different studies [33][34][35] (entries 3-5), HKUST-1 increased the PA selectivity to 98.1%, but the BYD selectivity was very low. In addition, when the ratio of formaldehyde to acetylene was tuned to about 10 : 1 or 93 : 1 (entries 6 and 7), the selectivity of PA was still much higher than that of BYD.…”

“…The former belongs to the peak of Cu 2+ in CuO, and the latter belongs to the peak of Cu 2+ , which exhibits strong interaction with SiO 2. For 30Cu15Zn/SiO 2 , the Cu 2p 3/2 peak can be fitted into three peaks at 934.4, 936.2, and 932.2 eV, which individually belong to the peaks of Cu 2+ in CuO, Cu 2+ strongly interacting with the SiO 2 , and Cu 2+ strongly interacting with ZnO. , To further determine the valence state of copper species, Cu LMM analysis was performed and is shown in Figure B. 30Cu/SiO 2 , 30Cu15Zn/SiO 2 , and 30Cu15Zn/SiO 2 -used all present broad peaks at 917.1, 916.7, and 915.6 eV, respectively, the first two of which are ascribed to Cu 2+ and the last one is attributed to Cu +.…”
