Mobile learning in Thai public university: Opportunities and barriers

Abstract

The use of Internet-enabled mobile devices in learning (mobile learning or m-learning) offers students the opportunity to learn anytime and anywhere. However, our preliminary survey conducted at Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, Thailand has shown that there are both social and technological issues to consider when developing mobile learning system in Thai public universities. This paper reviews mobile learning content authoring tools, and presents the current picture of mobile learning in a smallsized Thai public university.The research intent is to provide a guideline for future development of a framework that is suitable for universities in developing countries.
