Modeling and analysis of simultaneous information and energy transfer in Internet of Things

Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) will allow unprecedented connectivity among devices and is predicted to make our world smarter. However, due to battery constraints, energy efficiency of IoT with numerous smart devices is a key challenge. Simultaneous information and energy transfer (SIET) is a promising method to provide green energy for energy-constrained wireless networks. This paper, for the first time, investigates the modeling and analysis of SIET in a network where IoT nodes are powered via IoT gateways. Sp… Show more

“…Secrecy capacity maximisation or correspondingly secrecy outage capacity (SOP) minimisation were taken into account as well in the context of cochannel interference,() simultaneous wireless information‐power transfer,() cognitive radio,() relay‐assisted,() massive multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO), and heterogeneous cellular networks. () In the work of Kawabata et al, achieving a tight asymptotic bound for SOP and minimising the feedback cost, a new energy harvesting relay selection framework was presented for Internet of Things.…”

“…Physical-layer security techniques basically play a vital role in Green communication these days. One of the important parts of these techniques are in relation to SWIPT frameworks [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]. These schemes as the emerging telecommunications technologies, are promising ones to highlight the term green cited above.…”
