Abstract: The intrinsic characteristic of piezoelectric actuators (PEA), known as hysteresis, has been demonstrated to diminish the capability and stability of the system significantly. This paper proposes a modified-generalized Prandtl-Ishlinskii (MGPI) model to describe the rate-dependent hysteresis in piezoelectric actuators.
