Modeling Service Value Transfer Beyond Normalization

Abstract: Modeling of the value transfer of service based business systems is often based on the value normalization in terms of the value of money. We identify that the normalization is neither applicable for not normalizable properties of services of XaaS/EaaS(everything as a service) nor contributing to modeling the business nature of service based systems. We explore from a knowledge engineering approach the foundation of value modeling factors including "unit of account" and "value normalization". We propose a holi… Show more

“…However the concept of value in [4] is too abstract and too general for guiding specific and concrete analysis at service value level [9] which bridges business analysis and project planning. Firstly we plan to model the intended aiding relationships from L1 learning to L2 learning as an knowledge introduction process from a knowledge management [15,16] perspective.…”

“…Secondarily we analyze the functionality and application scopes of the semantics aided approach for L2 learning based on the cognitive model. Finally enlightened by value based analysis [9], we propose contribution calculation formulas for measuring the efficiency improvement [10] after introducing the semantics aided L2 learning in accordance with the degree of reuse. The idea of our proposed evaluation approach might be applied for measurement of a broad scope of knowledge reuse which is not limited to reuse first language (L1) related knowledge for L2 learning specifically.…”

“…"Value Driven Design" [4] promotes a movement that is using economic theory to transform the system engineering to better utilize optimization to improve complex design. Enlightened by this ideology, we work towards the foundation of integrating the IT implementation, business modeling and economic analysis by introducing the Service Value Broker (SVB ) [5] pattern. SVB has been already proposed for cloud service brokerage [6] which we foresee as an important characteristic of the optimization of the E-Service composition of [7] E-Service Economics.…”

“…Each domain may have aggregation and composition rules specified. 3) Security value -that determines the necessary conditions of a business transaction such as D S : location [10], IP address [5], auditing, legal issues in service contracts [11]. 4) Business value -that is directly related to the increase/decrease of the D B : monetary, nonmonetary value [5] of the goods/services exchanged during a transaction.…”
