Modeling the impact of campaign program on the prevalence of anemia in children under five

Abstract: Anemia, a global health problem, is increasing worldwide and affecting both developed and developingcountries. Being a blood disorder, anemia may occur in any stages of life but it is quite common in childrenunder the age of five. Globally, iron deficiency is the supreme contributor towards the onset of anemia. In thispaper, a general model based on the dynamics of anemia among children under five is formulated. The populationis divided in three classes such as susceptible, affected and treated. A time-depende… Show more

“…The model demonstrated threshold dynamics and the presence of both corruption-free and endemic equilibrium points. Additionally, in [24], a model is presented to study anemia in children under five and the impact of a control measure on the disease. Results suggest that the control measure can reduce the number of child patients and yearly deaths from anemia, but the disease may not be fully eliminated.…”

“…The DFE was not globally unstable due to the existence of the forward bifurcation at a threshold parameter equal to one. It is important to also mention that fractional calculus has been adopted recently to identify the salient trends that might have been missed in the classic calulus (see [20,21,22,23,24]).…”

“…Keeping in mind the treatment of the epidemic models, researchers have investigated the current disease from different aspects [8,9,10,11]. We refer here to some recent models related to the topic of research, see [12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20].…”
