PurposeThe present study aims to examine the relationship between green economic incentives (GEIs) and environmental commitment (EC) as drivers of the circular economy (CE) practices in small and medium enterprises (SMEs).Design/methodology/approachA cross-sectional study of 594 assistant managers and SME managers was used while data were analyzed through Smart PLS.FindingsThe results showed that GEIs positively affect the SMEs' EC and the CE practice model. Furthermore, EC is the mediator between GEIs and the three CE practices: internal environmental management, eco-design and corporate asset management and recovery (CAM&R).Practical implicationsThe present study provided a basis for understanding the relevance of SMEs' CE practices and designing a strategic plan for its implementation. Also, it provides insight into that collaboration between triple helix (the government, SMEs and the community) is needed in increasing environmental awareness toward sustainability.Originality/valueThis study enhanced the natural resource-based view (NRBV), describing the mechanisms that view GEIs and EC as pollution prevention in CE practice.

The disruption caused by COVID-19 along the rapidly changing business environment coupled with the supply network complexity may trigger unforeseen disruptions and make supply chains vulnerable to financial losses and in extreme cases, it leads to a firm shut down. The research is an effort to introduce a conceptual model to evaluate sustainable practices and dynamic capabilities to ensure performance in a disruptive environment. Determinants were identified from the literature for the study of Sustainable practices and capabilities during disruption and uncertain business environment and are based on the concept of the triple bottom line. A research survey collected data from 153 consumer goods SMEs. structural equation modelling (SEM) has been used to analyse the structural model proposed. The analytical outcomes of this research contribute to the existing literature and enable practitioners to design and implement sustainable supply chain activities and monitor and evaluate the impact of such activities on business sustainability among Indian firms.

Blockchain technology is at the peak of hype and contemporary research area across the world. It is a distributed ledger that keeps records of transactions with verifiable and immutable structures and continuously grows with the new block of transactions. Blockchain provides better transparency, enhanced security and privacy, and true traceability over the traditional approaches. Due to its advanced and secure features, it is being used in various fields such as trade finance, digital transactions, the Internet of Things (IoT), the healthcare industry, and energy sector. Blockchain technology has a great impact in all its applied fields with the prominent features of privacy and reliability of data and transactions. This survey intends to present the architecture of blockchain, its potential applications, and practices in different domains other than cryptocurrency along with the platform of blockchain. This paper will explore some potential benefits of blockchain and some future directions and open challenges that are expected to come in future research.
