Models for the Structure and Function of the Ethylene Receptor

Yunfan Zou,
Michael Pirrung

Abstract: A chemical model for the ethylene receptor in higher plants has been supported through the synthesis, spectroscopy, and structural characterization of several copper complexes with model ligands representing those in the native receptor protein, combined with alkene ligands. Some corresponding silver complexes have been investigated owing to the well-known effects of silver ion as an inhibitor of ethylene physiological action.
