Modern materials strengthening techniques by extreme effects

Abstract: In a brief review, the techniques of extreme effects on metallic solids are systematically examined in order to create margin structural states and unique physical and mechanical properties. The principles of complex extreme effects and the engineering of grain boundaries are considered, making it possible to obtain promising multifunctional materials with strength close to the theoretical limit.
