Abstract:Gassy clays containing large, discrete gas bubbles are widely spread in deposits in shallow waters. The existence of gas bubbles may impair the original soil structure, resulting in the instability of offshore foundations and the occurrence of submarine landslides. Although gassy clay was found to exhibit different undrained shear behaviors with variations of the initial pore water pressures and initial gas volume fractions, more experimental studies and theoretical interpretations of the relationship between … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
