Modulation the Neuro-toxicity Induced by Aluminum Chloride in Rats Using Beetroots and Broccli Extracts

Abstract: Backgound: The generation of oxidative stress can be referred to Aluminium toxic effect in animals and humans. This study aimed to evaluate the role of broccoli (Br) and beetroot (Be) extarcts as antioxidant that prevents oxidative stress that associated with aluminum toxicity. Materials and Methods: Fifty Wister female rats were grouped into five groups (each 10 rats): Group 1: control group, administered drinking water only. Group 2: (Neurogenerative) which were induced by oral administration of alumin… Show more

“…Animals received standard laboratory diet and water adlibitum. Neurodegenerative impairment was induced by aluminum chloride administration of 20 mg/kg b.w daily for one month (Balawi et al, 2018). Fish oil (Omega -3 fatty acids) was given orally by stomach tube as 0.4 g/kg bw (Songur et al, 2004).…”

“…G1 (control): normal rats were injected intraperitoneally (IP) with saline (1 ml/kg b wt) three days/week for four weeks. G2 (RBPE): normal rats were injected IP with RBPE at a dose of 50 mg/kg b.wt according to Al-Balawi et al [28], three days/week for four weeks. G3 (IR): rats were whole body irradiated with acute dose of 6 Gy of γ rays.…”
