“…This large analysis of almost 1500 high‐risk BCCs located in the head and neck area and treated with MMS confirms that each of the ‘Rotterdam’ indication criteria are appropriate for selecting eligible patients for MMS. Besides, a small Spanish study which used clinical margins of 2–3 mm in MMS and performed limited statistics, this study is to our knowledge the largest to investigate one vs. multiple stages within BCCs 13,21 . This study also shows that recurrent BCCs, those located in the H‐zone and those larger than 20 mm are significant predictors for extensive subclinical tumour spread.…”
