Abstract:Trifluorothymidine (TFT) has antitumor activity, but it is easily metabolized to inert trifluorothymine by thymidine phosphorylase (TP). Accordingly, TFT alone cannot show satisfactory clinical antitumor effects. Human TP (HTP) is the main enzyme of pyrimidine nucleoside phosphorylase in human.
