Monitoring Hiu Paus (Rhyncodon typus) di Perairan Pantai Botubarani Kecamatan Kabila Bone Kabupaten Bone Bolango Provinsi Gorontalo

Abstract: Whale sharks are often found in locations near the coast or river mouths. The whale shark (Rhincodon typus) is one of three species of whales whose feeding habits are carried out by sucking and filtering (filter feeders). “…Realitas fenomena kemunculan sekelompok Hiu Paus di perairan Desa Botubarani bukanlah bersifat sementara, sehingga keberadaan Hiu Paus menjadi anugerah bagi masyarakat Gorontalo khususnya. Hasil penelitian Rombe et al, (2022) menemukan bahwa terdapat 20 Hiu Paus teridentifikasi dan 2 diantaranya merupakan Hiu Paus baru yang selama ini belum pernah teridentifikasi kemunculannya di Desa Botubarani dengan panjang rata-rata 4 sampai 6,8 meter.
