Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs)

Abstract: Advanced military and microwave systems are demanding increased integration, reliability, radiation hardness, compact size, and lower cost when produced in large volume, whereas the microwave commercial market, including wireless communications, mandates low‐cost circuits. Monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) technology provides an economically viable approach to meeting these needs. This article deals with MMIC fabrication, substrates, matching networks, active devices, and monolithic design of micr… Show more

“…This configuring of the HFNL and the cross-linked C-shaped resonators for creating band rejection attributes are obeying the equivalent circuit for an electric LC resonator. The calculations of resonance frequency for the electric LC resonators are attained from [32, 33] and are established to be 3.5 and 4.5 GHz. The desired results are attained after fine-tuning the calculated results for the resonant frequency of the electric LC resonators.…”

“…The LNA and the bias tees are shown in figure 3 (left). The classical Wilkinson power divider [8] is not intrinsically wideband due to the quarter-wave line centered at only one frequency f o . Several multi-way Wilkinson stages can be developed in order to cover several characteristic frequencies but then a large reduction of the bandwidth and large insertion loss are expected.…”
