In the present study, along with scape, leaf surface and mesophyll anatomy of four Hyacinthella species, H. nervosa (Bertol.) Chouard, H. hispida (J.Gay) Chouard, H. siirtensis B. Mathew and H. venusta K. Pers. were studied and the features were compared among the species in this research. After the analysis of data, it was seen that the scape anatomy is close to studied species. However, there are differences when the other species examined as seen in the epiderma has papillose protuberances only in H. nervosa. When the leaf mesophyll is observed, it is seen that H. siirtensis and H. venusta are equifacial, H. hispida is unifacial, H. nervosa is dorsiventral. Raphide crystals are seen in some of the mesophyll cells. While leaves are amphistomatic with anomocytic stomata in all taxa, indumentum and epidermal cell bigness of the surfaces show difference among the species.

ABSTRACT:Orchis palustris grows naturally in Erzurum and has drawn attention as new cut-flower. This study was carried out to determine the vase life of Orchis palustris under different conditions including the use of chemical preservatives; (8-HQ, AgNO 3, sodium benzoate, sugar, AlSO 4 and kinetin). The results indicated that the B solution prolonged the life of the Orchids by 23 days, which is 8.4 days longer than the control. It was also found that Orchis palustris which stays alive for up to14.6 days even in tap, can be a cut as flower and vase plant with life length of its flowers and exclusive size of its flowers.Keywords: Cut flower, Erzurum, Orchis palustris, solution, vase life ÖZET: Orchis palustris Erzurum ilinde doğal olarak yetişmekte ve çiçeklerin güzellikleri ile yeni bir kesme çiçek türü olarak dikkatleri çekmektedir. Çalışma Orchis palustris'in biri Control (musluk suyu) olmak üzere dört ayrı solüsyonda (8-HQ, AgNO 3, sodyum benzonat, şeker, AlSO 4 ve kinetin) vazo ömürlerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda Orchis palustris'in B solüsyonunda 23.0 gün vazo ömrü ile Control solüsyonuna göre 8.4 gün (57.5%) artış sağladığı gözlenmiştir. Ayrıca Control solüsyonu olan musluk suyunda bile 14.6 gün yaşayan Orchis palustris'in gerek çiçek ömrü gerekse de etkileyici çiçek boyu ve güzellikleri ile iyi bir kesme ve vazo çiçeği olabileceği belirlenmiştir.
