“…The spongy structure of the bauxite surface allows the flow of solutions promoting extreme leaching conditions. The present microstructural properties of bauxite when compared to that of the deposits of Sundergarh district, Eastern India as reported by Sahoo et al [11] revealed that the latter showed more prominent features which might be due to strong bauxitization. Crystals of gibbsite were recognized along with partially crystallized ilmenite and hematite.…”
