Abstract: The granuloviruses or GVs (Betabaculovirus) associated with the fall armyworm (FAW), Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), especially those of Type I, have scarcely been studied but they might represent an alternative for the biocontrol of this insect.
