Mössbauer Study on the Aftereffects of Nuclear Decay in Sulphate Hydrates

Abstract

Mössbauer effect /Aftereffects/Radiolysis /Sulphate SummaryThe anomalous states produced by the electron capture decay of "CoinFeSO^ •H,0,FeS0^ ^HjO, CoSO, ^H^O.MgSO^ • Hj O, MgSO, • 7 Hj O and ZnSO^ • 7 H, O are ob served using Möss-bauer emission spectroscopy. The characteristic aspects of the Mössbauer spectra are described in terms of the difference in ionic radius and of the structure and properties of the sample aystals.
