Motorcycle Noise Testing in Bermuda

Abstract: In Bermuda, experience is showing that intelligent use of a noise meter, coupled with vigorous legislation, can reduce motorcycle noises to a very noticeable extent. The machines are run on rollers in a small reverberant test shed, sound level being measured by a General Radio 1551 A meter operated in the “flat” position, as preliminary tests showed that this procedure would rate the machines in close accordance to the ear and with the desired accuracy.
