Abstract: AimsEvidence is accumulating of the therapeutic benefits of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) in diabetes‐related conditions. We have identified a novel population of stromal cells within islets of Langerhans – islet stellate cells (ISCs) – which have a similar morphology to MSCs.
