The significant enhancement in demand for bring your own device (BYOD) mechanism in several organizations has sought the attention of several researchers in recent years. However, the utilization of BYOD comes with a high risk of losing crucial information due to lesser organizational control on employee-owned devices. The purpose of this article is to review and analyze the various security threats in BYOD; further we review the existing work that was developed in order to reduce the risks present in BYOD. A detailed review is presented to detect BYOD security threats and their respective security policies. A phase-by-phase mitigation strategy is developed based on the components and crucial elements identified using review policy. Managerial-level, social-level and technical level issues are identified such as illegal access, leaking delicate company data, lower flexibility, corporate data breaching, and employee privacy. It is analyzed that collaboration of people, security policy factors and technology in an effective manner can mitigate security threats present in the BYOD mechanism. This article initiates a move towards filling the security gap present the BYOD mechanism. This article can be utilized for providing guidelines in various organizations. Ultimately, successful implementation of BYOD depends upon the balance created between usability and security.

The multi-device era comes thanks to mobile computing which gives remote access to resources from anywhere changing the people's life and opening new business opportunities. However, the legacy systems do not render the content properly in mobile devices because they were thought to be only compliant with Web browsers. Economic availability is often the reason why these have not been modernized. This work proposes a systematic literature review about the approaches used for the portabilization or modernization of web 1.0 business applications to mobile devices in the period 2006-2017, from SCOPUS, IEEE, and ACM. The search obtained 824 articles, where 37 were selected based on the inclusion criteria. The research questions were: PI1. What have been the contribution to the portability of business applications to mobile devices? PI2. What methods have been used? PI3. What is the nature of the contribution found? PI4. What are the objectives that are pursued in the research work?. The conclusions were obtained through the classification of selected papers with respect to focus, scope, type of research and type of contribution to give an answer to research questions. Then, the state of the art determines the main approaches such as model-driven development, content reorganization, augmentation, and specific migrations. However, certain research gaps were detected and detailed which represent exploration opportunities.

The process of service discovery is the most important task in web services. But this service discovery process may degrade network performance due to the mobile environment. To overcome these issues, a new approach called 'semantic mobile web services (SMWS)' is proposed. This proposed semantic mobile web services is used for a better discovery process even in the high mobile environment. By using the query request (QRY REQ), response (RSP) packets, user can identify the location of the mobile node as well as discover the web services with the minimum utilisation of bandwidth resources. During the service discovery process, a service registrar is included between service requester and service provider to reduce overhead. The process of matchmaking produces the exact match responses for the respective requestor queries. This helps to increase the quality of performance and network efficiency. Simulation has analysed the performance of the proposed semantic mobile web services.
