Abstract: Parasite transmission occurs in complex environments comprising multiple matrices. Trematode parasites of ruminant livestock such as the liver fluke, Fasciola hepatica and the rumen fluke, Calicophoron daubneyi, show affinity with freshwater environments shared with their amphibious snail intermediate host, Galba truncatula.
